Can your classes help people with a medical condition?

Our yoga and pranayama classes have proven to help people heal from a variety of a health issues including hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis, asthma, depression, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, and much more.  Regular practice often shows results within 60-90 days, however many of our students report feeling a difference in their well-being after just one session.  View our student testimonials.

How do I register?

How does membership work?

Read how it works.

How can I see a schedule of your classes?

See our class schedule here.

What does the price include and how does payment work?

The price shown for subscription-based classes is monthly.  Once you sign up, you will be enrolled in the class and the payment will auto-renew every month until you cancel.  Click on the class details to see exactly what is included with your purchase.  Some classes are one-time payment (non-subscription).

Are all classes online?   Are they live or pre-recorded?

At this time, all classes are online.  Some are offered as live in-studio, real-time.  Others are offered as pre-recorded videos.  The Class Details will mention if a live class is available.  You can also see our Schedule to know which classes are offered live.

What if I sign up for a live class but I can't attend at that time?

The link will be mailed to you so you can watch the recording at your own time.

What is the benefit of watching a live vs pre-recorded class?

While a pre-recorded class gives you the flexibility to watch any time, the live class at a fixed time encourages students to attend every week consistently, just as if you were attending a class in person.  You'll also be watching real time with many other people which gives the feeling of being part of a larger group.  Some classes (like Hatha Yoga) includes a chat screen so you can connect with other students.  Watching the class live just as it's released also gives you more time to view it again for practice during the week.  We have found that those who attend the live class are more likely to have consistency with their practice.

In my subscription of Hatha Yoga and Pranayama weekly classes, I see that I have access to 4 videos, instead of just the one weekly video.  Why is that?

We have included up to 3 prior class videos with your subscription in case you wish to get in more practice each week, with a different set of postures.  Many of our students advance quickly with regular practice.  This is our way of encouraging you to add yoga to your daily routine.

The Hatha Yoga All Levels class is too difficult for me.  What should I do?

Start with Gentle/Beginner yoga.  Once you are comfortable in those classes, enroll in the Surya Namaskar class and practice a few rounds every day.  Soon you will increase flexibility, strength and stamina.  Then start the All Levels class and use variations to adjust the poses to your comfort level.

What is the Surya Namaskar Practice class for?  Who should take it?

Surya Namaskar, or yoga Sun Salutations, is a flow of poses that, when practiced regularly,  offer incredible benefits in many, many ways.  The practice class is intended to teach the correct method and techniques of Sun Salutations.  It is vital that students learn it properly as errors can result in injury.  This class is also for adept yoga students as a chance to challenge themselves by dedicating a full hour to performing Surya Namaskar and intermediate to advanced variations.

I have taken the Gentle/Beginner Yoga classes and now I want to join Hatha Yoga All Levels.  Is there anything I should know?

You should know how to perform Surya Namaskar, yoga Sun Salutations, smoothly and correctly before joining the All Levels class.  For this, enroll in the Surya Namaskar Practice class.  Most people learn in just one class of Surya Namaskar, some need more time to get it right.  The All Levels class requires a greater degree of strength, stamina and flexibility.  Don't feel discouraged if you're not able to perform all the asanas the first time.  Use variations to adjust poses to your comfort level.  Take your time and listen to your body.  Allow the pose to 'happen' rather than trying to achieve it.

I'm new to yoga.  How should I get started?

We offer a Yoga Starter package that is perfect for those who are new to a yoga practice.  The package includes a yoga mat, two blocks, yoga strap (to aid in postures), instructional videos (not offered elsewhere), instructional booklet, and one month of classes in Gentle Yoga, Hatha Yoga All Levels, AND Pranayama.  It's an excellent value which we offer to encourage more people to try Hatha Yoga and experience its amazing benefits.

Who should take the Pranayama class and what is helpful for?  What exactly is it?

Deep breathing has numerous benefits.  It supports our various hormonal glands and regulates hormones, balances blood pressure and blood sugar, encourages blood circulation, deeply oxygenates the blood thereby rejuvenating all the tissues and organs, supports flow of lymph fluid that helps in removing toxins, increases lung capacity and stamina, reduces anxiety, gives us energy and vitality, improves our skin, reduces hair fall, increases memory, eliminates brain fog, improves sleep, removes aches and pains, instills calmness and tranquility of mind, reduces anger and makes us joyful, helps us increase patience and tolerance, and there is more.  We have seen a vast number of our students heal themselves of chronic ailments with pranayama and meditation alone.  Everyone can benefit from our Pranayama and Meditation class.  It is our most popular class.

I have pain in my joints, knee trouble, frozen shoulder or lower back pain...what class is good for me?

Gentle Yoga and Pranayama classes are ideal for you.  Both focus on relieving pain and are extremely effective.  If you take Pranayama, you need not sit on the floor.  You can sit on a chair and support your back so that the spine is as erect as possible.

I have high blood pressure but otherwise healthy...what class is good for me?

You can take any of the classes however during asana practice, avoid inverting your head for more than 10-15 seconds, and avoid Kapala Bhati in Pranayama class.  Check with your physician before enrolling.

I would like my elderly parents to start yoga... is there a class designed for seniors?

Our Gentle/Beginner Yoga class is ideal for seniors.  Many of our students report increase in range of motion, more energy, increased balance and flexibility, and overall enhanced well-being with this class.

I would like my kids to start yoga... is there a class that will keep them engaged while teaching yogic practices?

Our Kids Yoga Fitness class is designed to introduce yoga techniques to children while making sure they have fun.  We include fitness warm-ups to get them moving, yoga poses, and a few minutes while sitting, lying or in a tree pose!  Parents are welcome to join in.

I want to enroll in your Advanced Yoga classes.  How can I do that, and what are prerequisites?

We offer an Advanced Hatha Yoga class for students that have demonstrated mastery over the Basic Asanas.  This class teaches challenging pose variations and new and difficult asanas for adept students.  The prerequisite is one year of enrollment in the All Levels class and ability to hold the Basic Asanas for at least 30 seconds each.  Students must be able to perform Sarvaangasana and Padmasana comfortably.  Instructor approval required.  To enroll, sign up online and contact us describing your experience.  (If an approval is not granted, you will be refunded.)  Instructor Amita Jain has over 24 years of teaching experience including advanced yogic techniques.  See her gallery.

Your donations, large or small, go a long way for us in supporting the work that we do in Yoga and Ayurveda for our community.  With your aid, we are able to help hundreds of people every year recover naturally from chronic illness and pain.  Our primary expenses are rent, software fees, and administrative staffing.  We try to keep our costs low to make our services affordable to everyone, but this income alone does not cover our expenses.  Donations help us immensely.  We personally contact every donor with a word of gratitude.   You can donate here.  Thank you for your kindness!
