Yoga Course Guidelines
Lead Instructor:  Amita Jain, AD, CYT

 

Teaching Method: Traditional Hatha Yoga 
Asana, pranayama, yoga nidra, mudras, kriyas and dhyana (meditation)  

 

Objective: To teach all students how to control and calm the mind, bring optimal health and vitality to the body, and recognize the divine essence within us.

Amita Jain is a certified yoga instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience.  She trained under world renowned yoga Guru, Dr H.R. NagendraJi, at the first and only accredited Yoga University, SVYASA Yoga Institute, in Bangalore, India. Her classes focus on traditional practice and preserving the authenticity of spiritual teachings of Yoga.

Guidelines

How to Join a Class:
 
  • Click Book Online in the top menu bar

  • Select the date to start and the class and click "Sign Up"

  • For ongoing monthly enrollment and reduced fees, click the Memberships tab and select the membership.

  • Proceed with booking and complete the forms.

  • You will receive an email confirmation.  If you do not get it please contact us.

About Your Booking:

  • Classes are ongoing with month-to-month payments.  Each payment is for 4 classes.  Stay enrolled for as long as you want with automatic renewal, cancel anytime.

  • Classes fill up quickly.  If you wish to join and the class is full, send us an email and we will place you on the waiting list.  You will be notified when a spot becomes available.

  • A 50% attendance rate is required to hold a spot in class.

  • Email us if you need to cancel and your enrollment will end at the end of the month that you paid for. 

  • You can try a class before enrolling.  Book online for a single session. (Drop-in fee* applies).

  • Guests are welcome to attend a class.  (Drop-in fee can be paid in person or online.)

  • To enroll a child in Kids Yoga, one parent/guardian must be present in the simultaneous adult yoga class or the Kids Yoga class.  Children can not be dropped off.

  • New students and beginners interested in Hatha Yoga should sign up for Level I or All Levels.  Attendance at one "Surya Namaskar Practice" class is required before joining the weekly yoga class in order to learn the Sun Salutations correctly.

  • The Advanced class is for Level II students who have demonstrated excellence in performing the basic asanas.  Invitation is by the instructor.  Interested students can email the instructor.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation policy:  Cancel your monthly enrollment anytime by sending an email to info@vedichealth.org.

Refund policy:  A full refund will be issued with advance cancellation (prior to the start date of enrollment). Refunds are not issued for missed classes or once the month has started. Example: if you pay for 4 classes in April,  no refund is given after March 31.

Make-up Class:  If you miss a class, you're welcome to attend another yoga class at any location for that week.  To enroll weekly in more than one class, please book online for both classes.

 

* All payments are donations to Vedic Health Inc, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.  Your donation is tax-deductible. 

Guidelines for class:

  • Bring yoga mat and water bottle. 

  • Yoga blanket, yoga strap, and cushion are optional but helpful to have with you.

  • Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing in which you can freely move.  Avoid loose pants. 

  • Arrive with fairly empty stomach.

  • Avoid coffee and strong tea 4 hours prior to yoga class.  Caffeine will affect your ability to deeply relax.

  • Avoid perfume, lotions and other strong scents.

  • Students will be asked to remove socks, watches and jewelry and turn off cell phones.

  • Consult with your physician if you have any medical conditions.  (Inform your instructor and note in the registration any health issues.)

  • To know and experience the benefits of yoga, a daily practice at home is important.

 

During the yoga class, the basic asanas will be demonstrated with detailed instruction. Variations will be taught to accommodate all levels, from beginner to advanced, however a minimum level of fitness is required to gain benefit from the asanas.  People who are unable to bend forward or backward due to spinal issues or those who cannot sit on the floor due to knee problems may not find the classes suitable.  The course should be continued for enhanced practice and learning.
